Rasam

Today,my hubby darling was down with cough cold and headache! So I decided to give him a warm glass of Rasam. The ingredients in Rasam have such medicinal value plus the tanginess from the tomato and tamarind makes it one of the best dish!

Ingredients:

1. TOMATO-2(THINLY SLICED)
2. PEPPER(WHOLE)-2 TSP 3. JEERA(CUMIN)-1/2 TSP
3. CORIANDER LEAVES- 1/2 CUP(FINELY CHOPPED)
4. RASAM POWDER-1 TBSP(EASTERN)
5. TAMARIND - 1 TBSP PULP
6. SALT

7.OIL
8.CURRY LEAVES
9.ASAFOTIDA-1 PINCH

10.GARLIC(FINELY CHOPPED) - 1 TSP

11.MUSTARD SEEDS-1/2 TSP

Method Of Preparation:

1.IN A CRUSHER,CRUSH PEPPER AND JEERA(COARSELY).
2. HEAT A PAN,HEAT 1 TBSP OIL,SPLUTTER MUSTARD, ADD RED CHILLI(WHOLE), CURRY LEAVES,AND SORT WELL.
3. ADD THE PEPPER-JEERA COARSELY GROUND PASTE ,CRUSHED GARLIC AND CUT TOMATOES.
4. FRY THE TOMATOES FOR 5 MINS, ADD THE RASAM POWDER.
5. ADD 2 CUPS OF TAMARIND WATER AND SALT.
6. COOK IT WITH CLOSED LID FOR 10 MINS.
7. ADD THE CHOPPED CORIANDER LEAVES.
8 SERVE IT HOT WITH RICE.
